Promoting Healthy Lifestyles
As an agency, Jolles Insurance makes wellness a priority for its staff, clients and the community. Jolles Insurance is the largest supporter of We Promote Health, Inc., a local Howard County 501(c)3 non-profit, whose mission is to promote healthy lifestyles in schools, workplaces and the community.
Members of the Jolles team fill key positions within the non-profit and donate hundreds of hours volunteering to support it’s many activities and programs year-round. Jolles Insurance has been recognized by Howard County with three small business workplace wellness innovation awards and the agency has achieved the highest "Gold Level" status as a Howard County Healthy Howard Workplace every year since the award was first recongized.
The Wellness Council of America (WELCOA) is the nation's premier resource for Workplace Wellness. Since March, 2014, Brian Jolles has been considered faculty by WELCOA. Brian has completed six certifications with WELCOA and is available to help other bussinesses of all sizes to incorporate the lessons and programs that are essential for any successful workplace wellness initiative. Beginning in March, the Jolles Team helps coordinate Get Active Howard County (GAHC), a 10 week healthy lifestyle initiative with a calendar full of wellness activities, workshops, walks, nutrition education, health screenings and more. Brian is the team captain for the HealthNuts, the largest participating community team. This opportunity is open to everyone who lives, works or plays in Howard County. WeCan! Is a scientifically based program created by NIH. It stands for Ways to Enhance Children’s Activity and Nutrition. Jolles Insurance team members volunteer to support local elementary schools workshops emphasising healthy eating, moving more and decreasing screen time.

Consider that over 1/3 of all minor medical conditions can be treated without a trip to a healthcare facility. As our nations's healthcare system continues to evolve, making decisions about personal and family health becomes increasingly confusing. But the fact is, it doesn't have to be. Eat Right for Life
The majority of illnesses and chronic diseases that are currently so prevalent in America are largely preventable--and in some cases, fully reversable--simply by eating the right foods. the Eat For Life Challenge will inspire participants to focus on the five basic tenents for making healthy food choices, as outlined in Dr. Ann Kulze's Eat Right For Life book. Participants are challenged to work toward transforming unhealthy eating behaviors into healthy habits that will promote a lifetime of stellar health.
